Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the price include set up and delivery?
A: Yes, although additional fees may apply for areas farther out. Remember prices do not include sales tax.  Generally delivery to the grater Columbus, Ohio area is included.

Q: Do you deliver to other cities?
A: Yes, but once again please be aware that due to rising gas prices and the possible need for an extra truck and labor that travel fees can be quite high. Please call our office for a current quote.

Q: Does the standard 3 hour rental time include your set up time?
A: No. We arrive early to set up so you get the entire rental time to play.

Q: When do you set up?
A: That depends on how many rentals we have that day. Generally we arrive 1-3 hours before the rental time begins. If we have a lot of rentals that day, we may need to set up as early as 4 hours in advance. If this is the case, we will call the day before to confirm that someone will be at the event location.

Q: Do we have to keep it plugged in the entire time?
A: Yes. A blower keeps air in the jump unit the entire time. Once unplugged they deflate. That´s why we require an outlet within 50´ of the unit or a generator. Longer cords can pop your circuit breaker so we bring our own heavy duty cords.

Q: What about parks? Do parks have electricity?
A: We love setting up at parks but most parks do NOT have electricity. If you want to set up at a park, you may need to rent a generator. We rent generators at a reasonable cost.

Q: What forms of payments do you take?
A: Cash , Check or Credit Cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. If paying by cash, please have exact change as our drivers do not carry cash.

Q: What if we need to cancel?
A: Simply call us and let us know. There is no deposit so you’re not out a dime.

Q: Do you require a deposit?
A: There is no deposit required. We trust that you’ll go through with your rental or let us know if you need to cancel.

Q: How big are the jumps?
A: Most of our inflatables are 13´x13´ which is a little bigger than many companies rent. Please note the space required for each jump (listed near the large picture) as some are VERY big and require extra space. When in doubt, measure your space to make sure it will fit. Jumps need room to be staked and they need room for the blower and can´t rub against walls or trees as this may damage the inflatable. The sizes listed with each jump include the space needed for stakes etc. If you have stairs or a tiered backyard, please call our office to discuss options for setup.

Q: What about the big inflatables? Any special requirements?
A: Check the requirements listed with each item. Also, make sure you have at least a 4´ access to the area where it will be set up. The inflatables can weigh up to 400 pounds so we need a clear path with ample room.

Q: What surfaces do you set up on?
A: We can set up on Grass (our favorite and best for the kids), asphalt, and concrete. Sorry, we can´t set up on any type of rocks as the constant rubbing will wear through the vinyl jumps. Mulch and sand are also forbidden as they make the equipment very dirty. Of course we can setup indoors on carpet and gymnasium floors.

Q: Are we responsible for the unit if it gets a tear or damaged in any way?
A: Yes and no. You are not responsible for normal wear and tear on our units. Seams may develop tears in high traffic areas over a period of time. If this happens please alert us at once so we can remedy the situation. If however, damage occurs due to failure to follow our safety rules or negligence (i.e. not turning off the blower in high winds) you will be responsible for all damages up to and including replacement of the unit/blower etc which can cost thousands of dollars. We don´t want you or us to be in that situation which is why we have you sign and initial on all of our safety rules so that you can be the trained operator.

Q: How much room do I need to rent a slide or bounce?
A: You will need to provide a level area that is large enough for the inflatable unit and that will allow ample room all the way around the unit. The necessary room varies depending on the particular unit(s) rented.

Q: Is insurance and state inspection important?
A: Yes! It is illegal to operate an inflatable ride in the State of Ohio without insurance and the proper permit, including an annual inspection by state inspectors. Permits are issued by the Department of Agriculture. All legitimate rental businesses in Ohio obtain the proper permit. Contact the Ohio Department of Agriculture, Division of Amusement Ride Safety to insure that a rental company is licensed.

Q: Can the inflatable be set up on a driveway, parking lot, or indoors?
A: Inflatables can be set up on hard surfaces as long as the proper clearances are met and they can be secured. The units cannot be set up on any rough surface (gravel, etc.).

Q: What are the power requirements for each inflatable?
A: Each inflatable must have a dedicated 10 amp circuit within 50 feet of the unit. A standard 110 volt outlet is used to power the units.

Q: How many children can play in the bounce house at one time?
A: Generally speaking, 5-8 children can play inside a bounce at one time. It depends on the size of the children.

Q: How safe are the inflatable rides?
A: When used properly, inflatable rides are very safe. These units are inspected each year by the Ohio Department of Agriculture to insure proper safety procedures are being followed. Proper adult supervision will provide a fun and safe time.

Q: What if the weather is bad?
A: We will not setup the unit(s) in high winds (>20 MPH) or rain. Apex Amusements reserve the right not to setup any inflatable unit if severe weather is expected or present. Once a unit is setup, no refunds will be given due to weather. There is no penalty for canceling due to weather.

Q: What preparation do I need to for the rental?
A: Make sure there is a dedicated 110 volt outlet available within 50 feet of each rental site. Inspect the area where the unit(s) are to be setup making sure there are no sticks, rocks, sprinklers, and other debris around the site.

Q: What is a “dedicated circuit”?
A: A dedicated circuit means that no other appliance is also using the circuit. Failure to provide a dedicated circuit may result in blowing the breaker and having the inflatable deflate.

Q: When is payment due?
A: Apex Amusements does not require any deposit to reserve the inflatable unit(s). Payment in full is due at the time of delivery.

Q: What payment terms are accepted?
A: We accept cash, money orders and cashier’s checks. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover Card are also now accepted.  We also accept purchase orders.
